Project Cold Homes Update

Hey all, its been a while. So you might have seen on our Instagram (or not) that in around October 2024, we pitched our idea of using solar energy to power electric heated jacket & blankets as a money saving alternative to the expensive heating in winter. We won £500 funding for that pitch, which was great!

We proceeded to order 5 heated jackets and 10 heated ponchos for sale. When testing out the solar powerbank, we found out that the solar powerbank charging that we tested didn't work well as we expected. Hence the solar charging part is a work in progress. However, even without solar charging, you could still save a lot of money from using electric heated wearables instead of turning on the heater for the whole house to keep yourself warm in winter! Our first batch of 5 heated jackets & 10 heated ponchos sold out in 3 weeks. It was a great learning curve and good start to a proper business modal. Moving forward, we'll aim to continue with the next batch of orders while trying to improve the solar charging technology. Keep an eye out for the winter around the end of 2025. We'll be back!
